Dr. Mark Howcutt
Chair and General Practitioner
Mark Howcutt studied at Oxford University Medical School qualifying in 1997. He worked at Stoke Mandeville Hospital before completing GP training at Haddenham.
He has been a partner at Haddenham Medical Centre for over eight years and a GP trainer since 2004. He is a member of Bucks LMC. Mark was elected Chair of Vale Health Limited in June 2012.
Commercial Director and Company Secretary
Prior to his involvement in the NHS John had extensive marketing and general management experience in manufacturing industry. Following this he was recruited into the NHS as a Director of a Health Authority. Subsequently he worked in primary care management and helped to set up Vale Health Ltd.
As Commercial Director, John contributes to strategic development and policy.
He is responsible for the operational management of the company and corporate matters.
Gareth is a founding member of Vale Health Ltd and has been an Executive Board Member since its inception. He is a practice management representative and is responsible for communicating the work of Vale Health to practice managers and to all practices in the Central locality.
Gareth is the Practice Manager of Poplar Grove Practice, a GP practice in Aylesbury. He joined the practice in February 2000 after spending 25years in the Royal Air Force Medical Branch. He is a professionally qualified Practice Manager with more than 30 years' experience.
Dr. Jonathan Pryse
Jonathan trained at Guy's Hospital, qualifying in 1992, and is currently the Executive Partner at North End Surgery, Buckingham. He has held a number of leadership roles within the NHS, most notably the Urgent Care Lead for the North Locality in Buckinghamshire.
He has also been a Board Member of United Commissioning, a member of the Professional Executive Committee of the Vale of Aylesbury PCT and a QoF Assessor. He joined the Board of Vale Health in June 2012.
Dr. Martin Thornton
Martin qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1997. He initially pursued a career in surgery training in Sheffield, then specialised in ENT surgery in the Southwest. After obtaining a Welcome trust funded research degree at world renowned Blond McIndoe laboratories, he moved to general practice to benefit from more rewarding patient centred personal care and pursue his passion for innovative healthcare development.
Trained in general practice in Devon, since 2009 he has been a GP partner and business development lead at Trinity Health in Buckinghamshire. He is leading on productive general practice programme within his practice and his interests lie in making health care responsive, innovative and patient focused.
