5 Tips to manage IVF
Are you undergoing IVF? Here are my top 5 tips to help you through
1. hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. If you are dehydrated the side effects of the medications will be much worse. Most get constipated during IVF & being hydrated helps keep your bowels moving. We detox hormones through our stools, if they are stuck, the hormones recirculate and everything feels a lot worse - I love @ancientandbrave electrolytes to be taken daily
2. Make sure you have a strong support system, friends, family or whatever works for you (talking therapy, acupuncture, reflexology, etc). Try not to share specific dates/ milestones to avoid pressure on you to share information in real time.
3. Get. Acupuncture!! The research shows it improves chances of a live birth by 32%. Acupuncture can also help calm you, improve your sleep, digestion, medication side effects (insomnia, night sweats etc) and so much more.
4. Eat breakfast, every day. In every meal include good sources of protein, healthy fats, complex carbs, fiber (especially for constipation) & veggies. This balances your blood sugar & in turn balances your sex hormones. Additionally include some liver detox support foods: nettle, dandelion, turmeric, citrus and green tea.
5. Take daily walks in nature, keeping your body moving is so important. Walking is allowed throughout IVF and being in nature is beneficial for both the body & the mind. Particularly if you get exposure to natural light first thing in the morning - This balances cortisol, & impacts melatonin, helping you sleep and boosting your fertility.
